Up for The Challenge?

I think back on my life “before baby” and it’s an interesting perspective to have on yourself and your life.  I’ve been thinking back about my 30-day yoga challenge I created for myself about 2 years ago for my 29th birthday (I also ate veggie for that month).  I look back at all the cooking I did, the hobbies I had, like knitting, hiking, biking and the gym.  I miss those things, but see that they have also been replaced by something just as important for my well being.  But, as life is starting to “settle down” (HA!), I feel myself moving back to those things, at least a little bit.  Lately I’ve been getting back into yoga, with much support from my husband, who is also into it and sees the importance of it in our lives.  (We’re both trying to go once a week, and asked for yoga gift certificates for Christmas).   I had canceled my old $45 a month gym membership to my beloved gym with awesome group fitness classes (and teachers!), and lots of wonderful amenities I never utilized. I decided that I really don’t need all that right now, it just doesn’t fit into my schedule (or budget) right now.  I joined a cheaper, no frills, gym and I am planning to go twice a week if possible.  It feels good to be sore.  It feels good to set a goal.  It makes me feel like I have my head above water, and my life is getting back to normal a little bit, with a special wonderful addition.  I can’t wait until she’s old enough to start enjoying hobbies like hiking and biking with us, although I should not wish the time away or wish for her to grow up faster – 5 months has gone by in the blink of an eye already!  Life is good!

I will definitely be your cyber workout buddy! My cousin just signed up yesterday and we have our first day scheduled for Monday when she gets out of work. I’m very excited to start! It’s hard not to think about when kids are older and all the fun stuff you can do. I still can’t believe how old Ryan already is, and AJ, he’s a whole other story, sad and exciting at the same time!
