This girl loves her some monkey stuffed animals. The one in the first picture was long a favorite of M’s. She would need to have him at nap and bedtimes, and he went everywhere with us. She liked to bite his face, so we had to wash him frequently. Now she’s pretty ambivalent about him in general, but still really loves monkeys. The second photo below is of her most recent monkey. He was hanging from our front door one morning and we’ve still yet to figure out where he came from! We need to start coming up with better names for them. By the time she got this one, New Monkey and Blue Monkey were already taken. So, this one is Door Monkey or something to that effect. They need names so I know which ones she’s talking about when she’s screaming from her room at 11pm that she NEEDS her monkey. Which one?!
I’ve been slacking on blogging (over a month!) and I’m working on catching up. It’s been nuts around here with R heading back to school, my office moving locations (and me working on much of the logistics), being tired from baking baby #2, R’s private lessons starting back up and all that goes along with selling a house, or trying to – showings, open houses, blah blah blah – we’re busy people! And when we’re not busy, we’re sleeping! Anyhow, I’ve got a ton of photos to post, and here are just a few to hold you over.
Just a few more photos from our trip to Canada. Notice her “smile” in the first two photos. Now when you ask her to smile, she sticks her bottom teeth out and squints her eyes. If you tell her to say “cheese” the result is much better!
Ok, so she’s not a baby anymore. M enjoyed her first (of several) lollipops on our recent trip. At one point, while we were waiting to go into a museum, she danced back and forth sampling Uncle M’s blow pop and Cousin P’s ring pop. Usually she reserves that dance for ice cream.
At her two year appointment the doctor said go for the potty training and don’t look back! No pullups. Just take a few days and do it. She said 50 years ago most kids were potty trained by two. I realize now that’s probably because 50 years ago most moms didn’t work. Anyhow, we are not quite ready for the cold turkey yet. In her new room at school she sits on the potty at every diaper change – about four times a day. Since Monday she’s been a champ at sitting for us in the evenings too, which we hadn’t been having luck with before she sat at school. And last night, on only the fourth night of trying, she peed in her potty! So proud of her!
We’re just back from a great vacation to Montreal and Quebec City with R’s father and family. The best part was seeing M with family, including her two cousins. They did great with her and she did pretty well with them. I think she hurt their feelings sometimes, refusing to hold one or the others hand, but overall I think everyone had a great time.
Last time we were in New Hampshire we visited a fun little farm for ice cream and a visit with some fun farm animals.
