I have been slacking on the CSA photos – so I give up! We’re getting lots of really great stuff and I’m really excited to see what we get as summer fades into fall. Late spring greens and asparagus made way for blackberries, peaches, summer squash, broccoli, zucchini, green peppers, frying peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, basil and more. My dad so kindly goes to pick up our loot every week and has started taking M along too. She enjoys seeing the pigs!
As summer winds down quickly, R continues to impress me with his hard work on his doctoral thesis. I had a brief freakout about his progress, but he’s met with his adviser and is on track to turn in it late September to the committee for review and then, if all goes well (and it WILL!), he’ll graduate in early December. The end is in sight and it’s totally doable. School starts for him next week. I don’t even want to think about how hellish and lonely my life would be without my mom here to raise these children with me while he’s hitting the books (bass), but, tonsils aside, it’s been a really great summer! We’ve been eating outside most nights. As we wrap up dinner M will play some soccer with her new (blow up) soccer goal. We’re enjoying the pleasant weather and all the fresh veggies.
